Transitional Living Facility
5 Clark Street, Hartford
7 Lincoln Street & 23 Lincoln Street, Hartford

5 Clark Street, Hartford
The House of Bread residence opened its doors in January, 1985 to provide affordable, stable and supportive housing to men who are homeless and need to stabilize their lives. This transitional housing provides food and shelter while preparing residents to become competitive job seekers and eventually to manage their lives in order to live independently.

7 Lincoln Street & 23 Lincoln Street, Hartford
Beginning in 1988 the House of Bread renovated two buildings on Lincoln Street in order to provide safe, decent and affordable housing to men and women who are in substance recovery programs. These transitional facilities are home to nine men and seven women. Each house has an alcohol/drug counselor as a house manager who encourages independent living. Each resident must make a commitment to remain connected with support services while in residence.
